I started watching 30 Rock and it is interesting. I have mixed feelings about the show. It has a odd mix of low level comedy and hidden high level jokes only a few people would get. I’m sure that I’m missing a ton of jokes just because I’m not smart enough to understand.
Either way, I watch it, and I haven’t stopped which is a good thing. I just don’t really like it the same way I like Scrubs or Big Bang Theory.
I have no idea why I posted this because I am not suggesting you watch it. However I’m not telling you not to watch it either.

New York Times article
By WARREN E. BUFFETT Published: October 16, 2008
Basically:
This is the best time to invest. Everything is at a discount. Yes in the short term you will lose money, but you are getting things at a discount.
A simple rule dictates my buying: Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful. And most certainly, fear is now widespread, gripping even seasoned investors.
Yes the markets are bad, but history teaches that the market will correct itself. Of course, the time it takes to correct is unknown. However, most people I know do not need their investment money to survive. If you need your investment money to buy groceries, you probably should not have invested that money in the first place.
You also can’t wait until the market is a safe place to invest. If you do you’re losing out on a great opportunity to get things cheap.
In waiting for the comfort of good news, they are ignoring Wayne Gretzky’s advice: “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been.”
If you don’t believe Warren Buffet on investing…I don’t know who you would trust. He isn’t using fancy words like an economist would. His advice is sound and logical. I have no job, so I have no money to invest, but if I did, I’d go buy (diversely) and just wait for the next big upswing.

After watching UT pound Missouri at Adam’s, we carved some pumpkins and took some pics.
Guess who carved each pumpkin and vote for your favorite.

I first heard from Cary Lai Wednesday night. My dad emailed me later about it. I didn’t think it would be in the New York Times headlines, but I guess he is a billionaire.
Wang Yung-ching, who built his Formosa Plastics Group into Taiwan’s biggest and most profitable manufacturing conglomerate, died Wednesday in New Jersey while on a business trip. He was 91.
Formosa is the reason why there are Taiwanese people like myself in the tiny town of Port Lavaca. I’ve met him a few times and even had dinner at his home in Taipei a couple times. He had the most amazing fruit. Even though I’ve had wax apples (Lembu) before, his were the biggest and sweetest I’d ever had. My dad would tell great stories about him.

I could post about a lot of stuff. I’ve been rained on 3 times this week. My mallet finger got checked out by the Orthopedic doctor today and I just have a new splint for at least 3 weeks. I could post about the election, but that would take way too long. I’m more concerned with my journal article outline due tomorrow and class paper. Pray I get that summer job in California, because I’m batting zero in Texas. I’m looking forward to another NBA season. I went to PL last weekend. I saw my nephews. I ate El Patio. I rode Cary Lai’s new car. I changed many lightbulbs in my house.

I’ve been pretty busy.
Thursday and Friday I had to be on campus to do editing for the law journal I am on. It sucks and I don’t really know what I’m doing.
Saturday we played in the Vanhdy Bowl. My team was awesome and we didn’t really have a weak spot. Jing, Hoang, Peter, Douglas, Johnny, Annie, Angie (Peter’s friend), and me. We went undefeated but I got mallet finger: http://www.eatonhand.com/hw/hw015.htm
Saturday continued with UT crushing Colorado. I then went undefeated in Cranium. So starting with bball on Wednesday where Jing, David, and I went undefeated, plus undefeated in football, and undefeated in Cranium, I was on a winning streak.
Sunday I flew out to San Jose. I had dinner with my old Troux coworkers Thuan and Charles.
Monday I interviewed with BSTZ, an IP Firm out in Sunnyvale.
It was a good trip to Cali, but I spent most of the time on the plane and in my layover in Phoenix. Continental didn’t have a flight out of SJC late enough in the day. I did get some In-N-Out.
Traveling makes me tired. I got home late Monday around midnight.
Tuesday morning I went to get Xrays for my mallet finger. Annie made me a splint later that day because I didn’t have any broken bones and I don’t see the Orthopedic doctor until next Wednesday.
The finger is the biggest hassel in my life just because typing is harder. Try typing without your ring finger.
