Jerse pointed out in her latest post that Twitter may be the reason for her lack of posts. I know for sure that my Facebook status has removed some of the drive behind blogging. Instead of short life updates, I find updating my Facebook status instead. One of the reasons is that I can update my Facebook status so easily with my cell phone.
So what has happened?
This was the first week of school. The schedule has been full. Starting last Thursday, I took and unofficially passed the patent bar. I took most of the weekend off, but I did have to do some reading for classes.
Saturday I spent 9am-2pm on campus for orientation for the Business and Tax Law Journal. It looks good on the resume and satisfies my writing requirement. It adds extra work and headache, so I hope it will be worth it.
Monday was my light day and I only have one morning class. I hung around the rest of the afternoon. Tuesday was going to be full of classes so I had a lot of reading to do.
Tuesday was much different from Monday. I had a full day, and had 5 of my 6 classes. For starters, parking is a nightmare at the beginning of school. Parking passes overlap and people haven’t dropped or skip classes as much. I do have a couple cool classes like ‘Gaming and the Law’, no final, just a paper, and ‘Digital Transactions’, an LLM class which is interesting and about how to start a dot com.
So 8pm rolls around and I get out of my last class. I go to my car which is illegally parked in a faculty lot, without a ticket thankfully, and it wouldn’t start. It appeared to have power, but it just made a clicking sound and wouldn’t even try to start.
Thanks to Andrew – for picking me up from campus. It so happened that we were doing a live fantasy football draft, and he missed his first pick (he got autopicked Stephen Jackson with 4th pick). I got to ride in Taco3.
Thanks to Annie - for both going with me later that night to try and jumpstart my car and loaning me her car. Annie actually let me used her car on Wednesday and Thursday since she could use her parent’s car. So I didn’t miss any class.
Wednesday, I woke up to get my car towed to a Honda dealership because they were only going to charge $29 for diagnosis vs the $89 diagnosis the local mechanic was going to do. Of course the $29 applies to the eventual cost of replacing my starter, which was a big chunk of change. I still had class.
In review:

Car broke – hooray for Andrew and Annie, boo more work and more cost
Labor Day – hooray long weekend, boo have to do work during it
Football – hooray sport I actually watch, boo it isn’t basketball
